The Boston Bruins have gone 20 games without a regulation loss and now head out on a two-game road trip to face the Detroit Red Wings and New York Rangers.
After having Super Bowl Sunday off, the Bruins returned to practice Monday morning at Warrior Ice Arena. Since the next two games are back-to-back on Tuesday and Wednesday, coach Bruce Cassidy will spilt the goaltending duties. Tuukka Rask is in the midst of a 20-game point streak and will start against the Red Wings Tuesday night at Little Caesars Arena. Anton Khudobin will get the nod Wednesday against the Rangers at Madison Square Garden.
After practice, Cassidy explained that defenseman Kevan Miller (upper body) and forward Noel Acciari (lower body) will not travel with the team to Detroit, but could rejoin the Bruins in New York. Miller has not skated since he suffered his injury in the second period of Thursday's game against the St. Louis Blues. Acciari continues to skate on his own. Forward Anders Bjork remains sidelined with a shoulder injury.
Here are the projected line combinations and defensive pairings vs. the Red Wings.
