In brief media session, Tom Brady offers little in way of specifics about hand injury

Tom Brady held a shortened media session on Friday afternoon, and wouldn’t go into specifics about his hand injury that kept him out of practice on Thursday.

The quarterback, who was wearing gloves at the podium when he spoke with the media, was asked on multiple occasions about his hand, and what happened at practice on Wednesday that caused the injury. But he didn’t budge.



“I’m not talking about that,” he said when asked initially about the injury.

Asked if he was confident he would be able to play Sunday, he smiled and said, “We’ll see.”

Brady expressed confidence in backup quarterback Brian Hoyer.

“Brian … he’s always looked good. Brian does a great job,” Brady said.

“We’re in the same meetings every day. We’re sitting right next to each other. Whatever I’m hearing or saying, he’s hearing the same thing.”

When it came to the Jaguars, he offered the same level of praise as his teammates have done over the rest of the week.

“It’s a great challenge. I think the team has worked hard to get to this point, and it’ll be a great game,” he said. “We’re playing against a really good team that’s good in all phases and we’re going to have to play really well.

“This is the best team we’ve faced all year. They’re here for a reason. They’re obviously the top-ranked defense in the league with some great players at all levels. And really well-coached. They’re scoring a lot of points. So we’re going to have to play really well.”
