WASHINGTON – The Washington Capitals finished with a 4-3 shootout win to snap the Boston Bruins’ five-game winning streak Thursday night at Capital One Arena. After the Bruins gained an early 2-0 lead in the first period, Boston struggled the rest of the way and couldn’t stifle Washington’s relentless attack.
The Capitals erased a two- and one-goal deficits to force the shootout en route to victory. The Capitals have now won 12 straight against the Bruins. Alex Ovechkin scored the game-winning goal in the shootout.
