Impressive run: The Bruins have won eight of their last 10 games and are showing no signs of slowing down. The team is receiving contributions throughout the lineup and goaltending has been solid from both Tuukka Rask and Anton Khudobin. This is the type of team Bruce Cassidy envisioned during the summer and it’s coming to fruition. The young core is coming of age and the veterans are feeding off that energy.
Not like father, like son: Former NHL enforcer Louie DeBrusk finished his career with 1,161 penalty minutes in 401 games. It’s a sure bet that his son, Bruins rookie Jake DeBrusk, will never accumulate those types of penalty minutes, but he’ll answer the bell when needed. That’s what he did when the Islanders’ Casey Cizikas leveled Charlie McAvoy with a clean hit into the boards. DeBrusk dropped the gloves but was given a two-minute penalty for instigating, five for fighting and a 10-minute misconduct.
