BSJ Daily Briefing 11.16.17: Bruins skidding, Celtics vs. Warriors on tap taken at BSJ Headquarters (Regular Features)

Good morning!

A couple of quick thoughts while I contemplate whether the Bruins' losing streak can match the Celtics' winning streak:

  • Yes it's early. Yes there have been a ton of injuries. But the bottom line is the Bruins' season is reaching a critical mass after a fourth-straight loss.

  • They have three more road games on this trip and they've won one game away from the Garden this season (against Phoenix, which has a total of seven points this season -- weee). Plus, when the Bruins do come home, they face the Penguins the day after Thanksgiving. It could very well be a Black Friday for the Black and Gold.

  • Look, I get where the Bruins are with injuries. A couple things on that: the Ducks were just as bad off, and they found a way to get to a 4-1 lead. At some point, you just have to figure out the best way to win games and do it. If that means playing a defensive game and trying to win 2-1, then so be it. Keep playing like this, the season will be over by Dec. 1. And what would Bill Belichick do? Even if Tom Brady was out, he'd find a way to stay afloat (like his suspension last year — Belichick even won with Jacoby Brissett). Bruce Cassidy needs to find a way to get more points.

  • Can't wait for Warriors-Celtics tonight, and I'll be there with B-Robb, so if you see us, say hi.

  • This is one of the most anticipated regular-season games — regardless of sport — in this town in a while. I'd put it up there with any Patriots and Red Sox game.

  • Yeah, the Warriors should give the young Celtics a dose of reality, but Brad Stevens will have something up his sleeve.

And away we go...
