Kyrie Irving is one of the best isolation scorers in the NBA and he put those skills on display in a rotating game of 1-on-1 after Tuesday's practice that included Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. Irving scored five consecutive points in one point against the taller defenders with a steady mix of jump shots, pump fakes and strong takes to the rack. Defense will be a challenge all season long for the new-look Celtics, but it's clear to see these youngsters are going to be tested in practice everyday by the likes of Irving.
The Celtics had a tough shooting night from distance on Monday against the Hornets, but their outside shooting looked a lot sharper in practice Tuesday as we were allowed to catch a number of perimeter drills as practice wrapped up.
Marcus Smart wasn't shy about firing up 3-pointers during his preseason debut Monday (seven total attempts) but he put in some extra work on his jumper on Tuesday in pull up situations.
