RB Rex Burkhead (ribs) unlikely to play Sunday vs. Panthers

FOXBOROUGH — Running back Rex Burkhead was the only member of the Patriots roster listed as “DNP” for the second straight day, according to the Patriots injury report. Burkhead (ribs) also missed last Sunday’s game against the Texans, and is now unlikely to play Sunday against the Panthers.



Wide receiver Danny Amendola (knee), offensive tackle Marcus Cannon (ankle/concussion), wide receiver Phillip Dorsett (knee), safety Nate Ebner (shoulder), cornerback Stephon Gilmore (groin), linebacker Dont’a Hightower (knee), cornerback Eric Rowe (groin) and wide receiver Matthew Slater (hamstring) were all limited in practice on Thursday, according to the team.
