BSJ Daily Briefing 09.09.17 taken at BSJ Headquarters (Regular Features)

(Bob DeChiara/USA TODAY Sports)

Good morning!

Hope everyone has a great weekend. And to our BSJ subscribers in Florida (there are more than a few), make sure you stay safe.

No big announcements today, other than I hope to be posting my Patriots game film review sometime on Sunday, if not earlier. There are a lot of questions about what happened, so I want to make sure I do this right and not rush through it.

And...what Murf said.

CATCHING UP

Patriots

Didn't make a big deal out of it before the game, so I can't make a big one now. But Patriots' camp was a bit lax this year, so was that a factor in the loss?

LB Kyle Van Noy got run over against the Chiefs, but he received a two-year extension. Actually don't mind this, he's become a solid if unspectacular player.

Belichick doesn't want to live in the past.

Like Dr. Flynn said during the game: Hightower suffered an MCL sprain.

This isn't new territory for the Patriots early in the season.

Red Sox

Mookie Betts was (finally) the man last night.

Live Coverage of the Red Sox' 9-3 win.

Bruins

Zach Senyshyn impressed at least one important hockey person.

Bruins prospects beat the Penguins 3-2 in OT. Oh yeah, put that in your Stanley Cup and smoke it!

JFK discusses his debut.

Celtics

Brad Stevens sounds like they're close to adding that final big man.

PARTING THOUGHT

I don't know why, but when Belichick talks about not wanting to look into the past I think of this movie scene...
