Source: Elandon Roberts rib injury not considered serious

According to a league source, Patriots linebacker Elandon Roberts suffered a rib injury in the third quarter of Saturday’s preseason game against the Texans, but it’s not considered to be serious at this time.



Roberts was carted off the field following the play and did not return to the game. However, x-rays on his ribs came back negative. The 23-year-old Roberts is part of a rotation at the inside linebacker spot with a group that includes veteran David Harris.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media initially reported the news that the x-rays were negative.
