FOXBOROUGH — According to a league source, the ankle injury suffered by linebacker Elandon Roberts during Tuesday’s practice is not expected to be a long-term issue, and is not considered serious.
Roberts went down relatively early in Tuesday’s practice session with what initially appeared to be a serious ankle or foot injury — the Houston product had trouble walking, and had to be attended to by members of New England’s training staff before limping to the sidelines. However, after getting re-taped, he took limited reps over the second half of practice.
Roberts is a 5-foot-11, 233-pounder who is entering his second year with the Patriots. In 13 games last season, he had 25 tackles.
