PREGAME NOTES

After a setback against the Flyers on Wednesday night, the Bruins will look to right the ship on Friday night against a Sabres team that is looking to go 4-0-0 to open a season for the first time since the 2008-09 campaign. 

Linus Ullmark will make his regular-season debut with the B’s and get the start in net against his former club in the Sabres. The veteran will be looking to bounce back from a so-so showing in preseason play. 

With Nick Foligno ruled out for Friday’s game due to an upper-body injury, Tomas Nosek will get bumped up to the third line, while Anton Blidh will slot in on the fourth line. Craig Smith missed Thursday’s practice in what was called a maintenance day, but he will play on Friday.  John Moore will also replace Connor Clifton on Boston’s third defensive pair. 

Boston’s power play will be looking to get back on track against a Sabres penalty kill that gone a perfect 9-for-9 to open the season.
