PREGAME NOTES
No changes up front or on the blue line for the Bruins in this one. Nick Foligno is currently skating and could rejoin the B’s for practice in a red, non-contact sweater on Friday — but the veteran is not expected to play tonight or Saturday in Toronto.
Jeremy Swayman will get the start in net for Boston on Thursday, while Linus Ullmark will start on Saturday against the Leafs.
The rebuilding Red Wings got off to a hot start this season, but are currently stuck in a three-game losing streak.
Despite some injuries across their lineup, the Red Wings are an intriguing club to watch, especially with a new wave of young talent up in the NHL ranks. Defenseman Moritz Seider — selected sixth overall in the 2019 NHL Draft — was named the NHL's Rookie of the Month on Tuesday, becoming the first Red Wings player to earn the honor since Dylan Larkin in November 2015. Seider, who is already averaging 22:26 of ice time per game, has eight assists through 10 games. Fellow rookie Lucas Raymond has nine points through 10 games as well.
Larkin will not play on Thursday due to personal reasons.
The Red Wings have gone 5-2-0 in their last seven games against the Bruins, but Detroit hasn't won at TD Garden since Dec. 1, 2018.
