PREGAME NOTES

Jeremy Swayman will get the start in net for Boston on Saturday afternoon.

Even though Patrice Bergeron has already been ruled out for Saturday, Bruce Cassidy did note that the B’s captain was at Warrior on Friday and rode the stationary bike. However, he has not resumed skating quite yet. “I don't know if he'll skate [back in Boston on Saturday]…could be the next step,” Cassidy said of Bergeron. 

Matt Grzelcyk will be ruled out for tonight's game. Jack Ahcan will slot into the lineup. 

The Senators are coming off a 2-0 loss to the Penguins on Thursday night, which snapped a brief two-game win streak. Ottawa (16-23-4, 36 points), which ranks sixth in the Atlantic Division this season, has posted a 5-3-2 record in its last 10 games.  

Ottawa will be without leading scorer Drake Batherson (13-21-34), who was forced to miss his first All-Star Game last weekend after suffering an ankle injury on Jan. 26 that will keep him out for a couple of months.
