PREGAME NOTES

The Bruins are going to be significantly shorthanded up front for Thursday’s game, with Patrice Bergeron still out with an upper-body injury and Brad Marchand now suspended for six games.

With both forwards out, Erik Haula’s line will be slotted up to top-line duties, while the de-facto second line will be Charlie Coyle, Jake DeBrusk and Craig Smith. 

Jack Studnicka will be slotted back up into the lineup, and will center a line featuring both Nick Foligno and Trent Frederic. Oskar Steen was sent to Providence to make room for Studnicka. 

With Tuukka Rask now retired, goalie duties will fall solely on Linus Ullmark and Jeremy Swayman moving forward. Ullmark will get the start in net on Thursday.
