Casas' first and second home runs were both 3-run shots (1st and 3rd innings), and his final homer of the game was a solo shot that sealed the game for Boston (5th inning). Considering the gloomy September Boston is having, it is great to see Casas have a great performance like thi.
Silent Bats: Nick Pivetta and the Red Sox bullpen were also great in this game, preventing Minnesota from scoring an earned run. Minnesota's only run of the game came in the 4th inning after Romy Gonzalez committed an error at third base that brought home Willi Castro. Luis Garcia, Lucas Sims, Greg Weissert, and Kenley Jansen all had scoreless innings in relief this game.
Boston will play the second game of their doubleheader at 5:35 p.m. with Kutter Crawford on the mound.
