PREGAME NOTES
Already without Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchand and Craig Smith for the next five games, the Bruins’ COVID situation deteriorated further on Thursday — with Jeremy Swayman, Anton Blidh and Trent Frederic all entering COVID protocols.
Jesper Froden and Kyle Keyser were recalled from Providence on Thursday, with Froden set to make his NHL debut on a fourth line with Curtis Lazar and Karson Kuhlman.
Both Jack Studnicka and Oskar Steen will also enter the lineup and skate on a second line with Jake DeBrusk.
Linus Ullmark will get the start in net for Boston.
The Islanders are also dealing with COVID issues, with Mathew Barzal entering COVID protocols earlier this week.
