BSJ Live Coverage: Patriots sign gadget guy/kick returner Ty Montgomery

After spending the tampering period mostly re-signing their 30-somethings — along with trading Chase Winovich for Mack Wilson, and trading away Shaq Mason — the Patriots today made their first outside signing ... 30-year-old CB Terrance Mitchell, who will be arriving on his sixth team in seven years.

Mitchell has started 51 games in seven seasons, including 29 the past two years between Cleveland and Houston. 

It's a one-year deal for $3 million, according to ESPN. He had seven tackles, a pass defensed and a forced fumble of Damien Harris.
