PREGAME NOTES

The Bruins will be without Charlie McAvoy for tonight’s game, with the B’s top defenseman ruled out with a “lingering” lower-body injury. Bruce Cassidy believes he should be cleared for Saturday’s road matchup against the Lightning. 

Jeremy Swayman will get the start in net tonight. 

With Jake DeBrusk and Tomas Nosek still in COVID protocols, Oskar Steen will remain on Charlie Coyle’s line — while Trent Frederic will slot over at 4C. Anton Blidh will draw into the lineup on the checking unit. 

Minnesota rookies Marco Rossi and Millis native Matt Boldy will make their NHL debuts.
