PREGAME NOTES

This stands as the first of four meetings between the Bruins and Lightning this season — with the last meeting between both clubs coming in the 2020 Eastern Conference Second Round playoff series up in the Toronto bubble.

Charlie McAvoy will be a game-time decision for tonight’s game due to a non-COVID illness. If he can’t play, Jack Ahcan will slot into the lineup and skate with Derek Forbort. 

Jakub Zboril remains out after needing help getting off the ice during Thursday’s win over the Predators — with Joe Sacco noting that the blueliner will be re-evaluated in the coming days.

Bruce Cassidy remains in COVID-19 protocol. 

Jeremy Swayman will get the start in net once again. 

Tampa Bay has won seven of its last nine overall in the regular season against Boston and 15 of the last 19 — including postseason contests.
