PREGAME NOTES
The Bruins reshuffled their lineup for Wednesday’s early-season heavyweight bout with Florida — with Jack Studnicka slotted up to the second-line center spot with Taylor Hall and Charlie Coyle. Tomas Nosek will be back at his usual spot at 4C and center Trent Frederic and Curtis Lazar, who will make his season debut.
Oskar Steen will be slotted out of the lineup due to Lazar’s return, while Karson Kuhlman will skate on a third line with Jake DeBrusk and Erik Haula.
Linus Ullmark will make his third straight start in net for Boston — with Jeremy Swayman expected to get the call on Thursday in Carolina.
The Panthers, who lead the Atlantic Division with a 6-0-0 record, have won their last 12 regular-season games dating back to last season. Florida has outscored opponents, 27-12, to open the year.
Despite his involvement in the ongoing Chicago Blackhawks sexual assault scandal, Panthers coach Joel Quenneville will remain on the bench for tonight’s game against Boston. He is set to meet with NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman on Thursday in New York.
