PREGAME NOTES

After another extensive layoff, the Bruins will resume play on Wednesday with a road matchup against the Flyers. Entering Wednesday night, the Bruins are the lone team in the NHL that has only played one game so far this season. "At the end of the day, not much you can do about it, but should get a little more regular now," Bruce Cassidy said of Boston’s schedule. "The players would be the first to tell you they're sick of practicing and want to get out and playing. As a coach, we have some new bodies this year, so we get more looks at them; that's always a good thing."

Jeremy Swayman will once again get the start in net for Boston, with no other lineup changes in place for the B’s up front or along the blue line. 

The Flyers have also had a rather light schedule to open the season, having played just two games going into Wednesday night. "They're a deep team," Patrice Bergeron said of the Flyers. "They have a lot of firepower up front, guys that play the right way, play hard. I think defensively they're a team that plays smart, plays to their system well and is hard to play against. For us, it's about making sure we're trying to deny their speed, especially on entries, neutral zone, really taking care of that. They're a really good rush team so I guess that's where our focus is gonna start tonight."

Boston regularly scooped up points against Philly last season, winning six of its eight matchups against the Flyers. 

Martin Jones will make his season debut for Philly on Wednesday night. In seven career games against Boston, Jones is 1-3-2 with a 4.09 GAA and an .867 save percentage.
