PREGAME NOTES
Jeremy Swayman will get the start in net on Saturday afternoon against New Jersey as the Bruins look to bounce back from their loss to the Oilers with a trip to Newark.
Craig Smith — scoreless through eight games and potentially still dealing with a nagging injury — will sit today’s game out, with Karson Kuhlman replacing him on the third line. Jakub Zboril will replace Mike Reilly on the third D pair.
Despite losing a couple of key cogs like Jack Hughes and Miles Wood to injury, the Devils are off to a 7-3-2 start and will be riding a three-game winning streak into Saturday afternoon's game. New Jersey has been paced by Andreas Johnsson, who leads the Devils with 10 points in 12 games and is tied with Pavel Zacha for the team lead with six goals.
