HEADLINES

  • The Patriots enter this week’s game with a 9-6 record and will be aiming for their 27th 10-win season. Since the 1970 merger, the Patriots, Steelers and Cowboys are tied with 26 10-win seasons.
  • Bill Belichick is coaching for his 20th 10-win season as a head coach this week, including his 19th as head coach of the Patriots. A win this week will move Belichick into a first-place tie with Don Shula for the most 10-win seasons by an NFL head coach.
  • Mac Jones has completed over 70 percent of his passes in eight games. Jones can tie the rookie record this week against Jacksonville for the most games completing 70 percent of his passes. Dak Prescott completed 70 percent of his passes in nine games as a rookie in 2016.
  • Hunter Henry needs one more touchdown reception to reach 10. Rob Gronkowski is the only other Patriots tight end to reach double-digit touchdown receptions in a single season.
  • Speaking of Jones, he's going against his hometown team.

BEDARD'S KEYS TO THE GAME

  • Show up and execute better than the last two games (don't fall behind 44-7).
  • Take care of DE Josh Allen. He is the one guy who can wreck a game. A huge game for Isaiah Wynn.
  • Be careful of Mac Jones throwing too much in the wind.
  • Keep Trevor Lawrence in the pocket, certainly better than the Patriots did the other Josh Allen.
  • Get Mac Jones threatening all areas of the field. Use Kendrick Bourne as a weapon. Put him at X instead of N'Keal Harry.
