The Red Sox (74-72) win the series against the Baltimore Orioles (83-64) with a final score of 5-3 in tonight's contest.

The scoring started for Boston in the third inning, after Wilyer Abreu reached on a throwing error from Emmanuel Rivera with runners on the corners, allowing Jarren Duran to score. The Sox would score their second run in the fourth inning on a two out RBI single from Ceddanne Rafaela, which scored Masataka Yoshida. Boston wouldn't score again until the tenth, where they were down 3-2. Tyler O'Neill would send the fans home happy with a three run walk off blast over the monster and onto Lansdowne Street. His 30th homer of the season traveled 393 feet with a launch angle of 39 degrees, sending it deep in to the night sky.

Nick Pivetta had an amazing start tonight, pitching six innings and giving up only four hits and one run, that being a Emmanuel Rivera solo home run in the third. He struck out nine Orioles and only walked one. Chris Martin would replace him in the seventh, where he would allow one hit. Justin Slaten would be credited with a blown save in the eighth, allowing the tying run to score by way of an Anthony Santander solo homer to right field. Kenley Jansen pitched the ninth, giving up a hit. Greg Weissert would pitch the tenth and allow the ghost runner to score, but he would ultimately get the win.

Tomorrow, the Sox will begin their final series against the Yankees this year with a four game slate in the Bronx. Probable starters for game one are Cooper Criswell (6-4, 4.11 ERA) and Nestor Cortes (9-10, 3.97 ERA)
