The Red Sox defeated the Rockies 6-3 on Wednesday night, salvaging a game in the three-game series. Rob Refsnyder finished 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBI to lead the Sox offensively. Garrett Whitlock (4-2) picked up the victory after tossing seven innings, giving up two earned runs on six hits while striking out seven. … The Sox and Yankees met last weekend from the Bronx, Boston won the series taking 2-of-3 games.  Whitlock, Tanner Houck and Brayan Bello were the highlights of the weekend on the mound. The trio showcased the potential of the young Sox rotation for the remainder of this season and possibly beyond.
