PREGAME NOTES

The Bruins welcome the Minnesota Wild into TD Garden to finsih a quick two-game home stand with faceoff set for 7 p.m. Jim Montgomery told reporters this morning that Pavel Zacha will return to the lineup tonight after missing the last three games with an upper-body injury, while Charlie McAvoy is considered a game-time decision following a four-game absence also due to an upper-body injury.

“Zacha 100% [is in]," Jim Montgomery explained. “We're just waiting for McAvoy to see where he's at after [morning skate]. He's more than likely going to play but not going to sit here and say 100% if something changed in the morning skate,” Montgomery continued.

If McAvoy returns, Mason Lohrei will be the odd man out on the blue line, which means that Parker Wotherspoon will remain in the lineup after impressive performances through five games (over two separate stints) this season.

Don Sweeney told reporters on Monday that they have assigned Matt Poitras to Team Canada for the upcoming 2024 World Juniors in Sweden and will return when it ends. Kevin Shattenkirk is one goal away from recording number 100 for his career.

Boston faces a Wild team that is coming off a 4-3 loss at the Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday night. Minnesota was on a three-game winning streak before their loss on Monday night, and currently sits sixth in the west's wild card standings, four points behind the Arizona Coyotes for the second spot. The Wild are also 7-3 since John Hynes took over for Dean Evason late last month.

Joel Eriksson EK leads Minnesota in goals (14) and Matts Zuccarello, leading the team in points (28), is considered week to week with an upper-body injury.
