The Bruins won a thrilling game that picked up in the third period and ultimately ended in overtime with a Pavel Zacha goal to cap off a 3-2 win Tuesday night. The big storyline tonight was Boston's power play, the worst in the NHL, versus Detroit's penalty kill, which is also the worst in the league.

Detroit struck first on the scoreboard with a Lucas Raymond goal 7:31 into the first period.

The Bruins answered back with a rocket of a shot by Nikita Zadorov at the 9:15 mark of the first period, which tied it up at one. Boston outshot the Red Wings 11-6 in the first period.

It was not until the third period when Detroit took a 2-1 lead 1:19 on Raymond's second goal of the night, this time on the power play.

Justin Brazeau tied it back up at the 9:32 mark on the man advantage.

Dylan Larkin had a breakaway chance in the first minute of overtime to win the game but hit the post.

The Bruins will travel to Chicago for a back-to-back tomorrow night with puck drop set for 7:30 p.m.
