Final: Yankees 6, Red Sox 5
Not even peak Rafael Devers was enough to beat the Yankees.
Devers belted two homers off starter Gerrit Cole and drove in all five Red Sox runs, but the Sox fell short, 6-5, to New York.
Josh Winckowski allowed a grand slam to Josh Donaldson and a solo homer to Aaron Hicks in a five-run third.
The deciding run, which came in the fifth, resulted from Franchy Cordero's inability to catch a routine two-out, pop-up by Alex Trevino, as Hicks, on third, crossed the plate.

* The Red Sox placed RHP Tyler Danish on the IL with a right forearm strain. To replace him, the Sox called up RHP Michael Feliz from Worcester.
* The Sox plan to have RHP Brayan Bello start again Monday, facing Tampa Bay for a second time.
* RHP Garrett Whitlock will throw an inning or two for Worcester in a rehab appearance Friday, while Nathan Eovaldi will throw three innings Sunday for Worcester.
* OF Kike Hernandez will begin a rehab assignment Friday at Worcester.
