Final: Red Sox 2, Yankees 1 - Narvaez walks it off against his former team
The Red Sox walk it off against the New York Yankees winning the first game of the series 2-1.
Garrett Crochet pitched his best game in a Red Sox uniform nearly throwing a complete game shutout. For the eight inning, Crochet cruised through New York's lineup while also striking out Aaron Judge three times.

Alex Cora allowed his ace to pitch the 9th inning, but Judge got the last laugh against Crochet hitting a solo home run over the Green Monster sending the game into extra innings. Aroldis Chapman pitched the rest of the inning sending the game into extras.

In the 10th inning, Garrett Whitlock pitched a scoreless outing only facing two batters. Carlos Narvaez threw out the ghost runner Anthony Volpe who attempted to steal third base, and Whitlock retired his lone two batters faced.
And in the bottom of the 10th, Narvaez walked it off against his former team with a hit off the left field wall to win the game.

A huge win for the Red Sox behind an incredible start from their ace. In a small workload, the bullpen pitched well, and Boston got it done when it mattered most at the plate. The Red Sox are now 3-1 against the Yankees on the year.
Tomorrow, Hunter Dobbins gets the start on the mound with first pitch being at 7:15 p.m.

WHAT'S UP
The New York Yankees travel to Fenway Park for the first time this season in the second series against the Red Sox. Last weekend, both teams played their first series of the year against each other with the Red Sox winning two games out of three.
Jarren Duran gets benched as Alex Cora elects to play Roman Anthony against a left-handed starter. Rob Refsnyder will be the leadoff hitter tonight for Boston. “We cannot play them all,” Cora said. “Play Roman today, we felt the matchup is a good one. (Refsnyder) leading off, Romy hitting third. It felt like it’s the right one for this matchup. Then, we’ll decide tomorrow what we’re going to do. We’ll take it day by day.
The Red Sox acquired right-handed reliever Jorge Alcalá from the Twins for High-A outfielder Andy Lugo on Wednesday. Alcala will be available for Boston in tonight's game.
