Final: Red Sox 6, Twins 5

The Red Sox raced out to a 5-0 lead by the third inning, then held on for dear life, finally escaping with a 6-5 win over the Minnesota Twins, avoiding a sweep and snapping a three-game losing streak.

Xander Bogaerts had five RBI with a grand slam in the third and an RBI double in the sixth. Michael Wacha limited the Twins to two runs over six innings.

The Twins got a run off Garrett Whitlock in the seventh and two more in the eighth. Facing Matt Barnes in the ninth, the Twins had the potential tying and winning runs on base, but Barnes got Carlos Correa to hit into a game-ending double play to seal the victory.
