Final: Red Sox 6 vs Royals 2 - Red Sox win seventh game in a row behind another great start from Garrett Crochet
The Red Sox win their seventh straight game defeating the Kansas City Royals 6-2.
Boston scored the first run of the game in the third inning thanks to Jarren Duran. After a single from Romy Gonzalez, David Hamilton advanced Gonzalez to second base on a deep sac fly to center field, and Duran drove home the scoring run with a two-out RBI double.

For a majority of the game, Boston had a hard time getting on base against Royals starter Ryan Bergert, but they finally broke through in the sixth inning taking their lead back. With two outs, Trevor Story drove in two runners on base to give Boston a 3-1 lead.

This sixth inning showcased Boston's ability to not only hit with runners on base but to also score despite having two outs. Before Story's RBI, Wilyer Abreu provided a clutch double against left-handed reliever Angel Zerpa that extended the inning.
The offense continued in the seventh inning with Boston extending their lead to four runs. Story and Abreu combined for three RBI's in this inning as Boston took advantage of defensive mistakes in the field.

Garrett Crochet pitched another incredible game for Boston pitching seven innings limiting Kansas City to two runs. He also struck out eight batters.

Crochet's highlight of the night happened in the seventh inning when he struck out his final batter to end the inning for the Royals.

Despite a slow start on offense, the Red Sox gave their ace the proper run support to come away with the victory. A lot of the offensive issues Boston dealt with early in the season weren't an issue tonight. In another game without Roman Anthony, the top of the order provided the biggest contribution to extend Boston's win streak to seven games.
The Red Sox will look to sweep the Royals tomorrow at 7:10 p.m. This will be Dustin May's debut start for Boston.
