Final: Red Sox 10, Royals 1 - Crochet throws 7 innings allowing 1 run, Red Sox score 10 runs against Royals
The Red Sox tie up their series against the Kansas City Royals in commanding fashion with a 10-1 win.
Garrett Crochet had another stellar performance on the mound throwing 7.0 innings, striking out nine batters, allowing seven hits and only allowing a single run against Kansas City's lineup. Crochet looked dominant in every inning capping off his night striking out the final batter he faced with the bases loaded.

Meanwhile at the plate, the Red Sox looked much improved compared to yesterday's performance. Rafael Devers was the leading catalyst in this game with three RBI's on the day. Boston's DH got the game started with an RBI double in 3rd inning.
In the 5th inning, the Red Sox took a commanding lead scoring three runs. Jarren Duran, Devers, and Alex Bregman all recorded RBI hits in what ended up being Royals starter Cole Ragans last inning on the mound.
The Red Sox continued their offense with a three-run home run from Trevor Story and a two-run home run from Carlos Narvaez in back to back innings (8th and 9th).

Boston capped off their offensive performance that same 8th inning with Devers' final RBI giving the Red Sox 10 runs in the game.
Compared to yesterday's, Boston's performance at the plate was much better. The top of the order finally produced, and so did the bottom of the order with Narvaez and Ceddanne Rafaela recording multiple hits on the day. Especially facing off against Kansas City's ace, this was a great sign to see. Along with that, another dominant performance from Crochet on the mound gave Boston's bullpen a much needed rest after yesterday's 12 inning marathon.
The Mother's Day rubber match between the Red Sox and Royals is tomorrow at 2:10. Lucas Giolito gets the start on the mound.

WHAT'S UP
The Red Sox look to even the series against the Royals after yesterday's 12 inning walk off loss.
Boston has placed Romy Gonzalez (left quad contusion) on the 10-day IL and recalled utility man Nick Sogard from Triple-A Worcester. Sogard is active for Saturday’s game against the Royals.
Rob Refsnyder, who has not played since May 1 (last Thursday) and has been dealing with his back issue since Sunday, according to manager Alex Cora. He will not be in the lineup for today's game.
