Final: Red Sox 9, Rockies 3 - Anthony mashes his 1st home run in Fenway, Red Sox extend win streak to 4 games
The Red Sox have now won their fourth straight game defeating the Colorado Rockies 9-3.
In another game facing a left-handed starter, Boston's lineup put up another dominant performance at the plate.
After Colorado scored the first run of the game in the 2nd inning, Wilyer Abreu and Abraham Toro gave the Red Sox their first lead recording back-to-back doubles putting the game at 3-1.

In the 5th inning, the Red Sox rallied with two outs to extend their lead. With nobody on base, Romy Gonzalez hit a triple off the Green Monster, and Roman Anthony recorded his first home run in Fenway Park giving Boston a 5-1 lead.

Richard Fitts finally picked up his first win in the major leagues, and his strong performance was a key reason for Boston's win. Fitts pitched 5.2 innings allowing two earned runs and five hits while striking out six batters. It's been a shaky season for the rookie, but this game gave him the confidence boost he needed.
After Fitts exited the game in the 6th inning, the Red Sox faced some trouble with two outs. Chris Murphy was the first pitcher to come out of the bullpen for Boston, and Nate Eaton failed to tag out a runner on a fielder's choice play to end the inning. The Rockies scored two runs after the error cutting Boston's lead to two runs.
Fortunately, the Red Sox redeemed themselves with strong at-bats to finish off the game. In the 7th inning, Jarren Duran drove home Anthony with a pinch hit RBI single, and Carlos Narvaez recorded another RBI bringing Boston back to a four run lead.

This was another game where the Red Sox dominated an inferior opponent with strong offense. Anthony, Gonzalez, and Rafaela stay hot at the plate, especially Anthony who recorded another three-hit game in his young career. Abreu also had a great game facing off against lefty pitchers. Another fun win for the Red Sox.
Boston continues their series with Colorado tomorrow at 7:10 p.m. Brayan Bello will get the start.
