The Red Sox had life after Rafael Devers' two-run bomb (his second of the game) in the bottom of the 10th, but went down quietly for their second straight loss, a 7-6 result to Colorado. Justin Garza struggled in the top of the 10th, allowing three runs, after the bullpen had locked it down after Kutter Crawford's rocky start. Boston looks to salvage something from the series on Wednesday,

WHAT'S UP

The Red Sox fell 4-3 in 10 innings in Monday’s rainy series opener. Two errors led to runs for the Rockies, who scored the winning run on an error in the top of the 10th.

Crawford went three innings, allowing two earned runs and six hits in a loss at the Guardians last week.

Anderson will make his sixth start (seventh appearance) against Boston. He is 1-0 with a 6.35 ERA against the Red Sox. He was claimed off from the Rays in May.

Red Sox starting pitchers have allowed two or fewer earned runs in 18 of 24 games since May 17. Boston has scored more than two runs in 13 of those 24 games. They are 10-14 in that span.
