Final: Rockies 4, Red Sox 3 (10) - Boston crumbles in extras after strong start from Paxton
The Red Sox fell, 4-3, to the Colorado Rockies to kick off a three-game series and a six-game homestand. James Paxton went six strong innings, but the offense remained quiet, save for a Christian Arroyo home run and a 2-for-3 night from Justin Turner. Nick Pivetta and the defense crumbled in the top of the 10th before a 1:29 rain delay. Boston pulled within one of the bottom of the tenth, but couldn't muster any more magic. Old friend Daniel Bard picks up the win.

WHAT'S UP
The Red Sox are coming off a strong weekend in New York that saw them take the series over the Yankees, 2-1, to snap a three-series losing streak.
Boston is 5-8 since its last interleague series when it went 2-1 against the Diamondbacks last month.
The Rockies are 3-10 in their last 13, but are coming off a walk-off victory over San Diego on Sunday, their first win in six games.
Seabold will make his first start against Boston since being traded to Colorado for a player (still) to be named later in January to accommodate the addition of Corey Kluber. He went 8-2 with a 3.32 ERA in Triple-A with the WooSox last season. He began the season in Colorado's bullpen before shifting to the rotation, going at least five innings in four of his seven starts.
Paxton continues to look strong for the Sox since his return. He went seven innings deep with nine strikeouts and two earned runs in a 5-4 win at Cleveland last time out.
Trevor Story (right elbow surgery) is in Boston this week before he eventually returns to Fort Myers. He has increased his throwing distance to 120 feet, getting reps at shortstop ahead of batting practice. He hopes to go up to 150 feet. His goal is to return to play DH in July and play shortstop in August.
Yu Chang will resume his rehab assignment next week. He is currently sidelined with soreness in his left hand. He had surgery to repair a fractured hamate bone in his left hand. This is his second rehab setback.
