Final: Rays 1, Red Sox 0

The Red Sox outhit the Tampa Bay Rays 6-4, but where it counted, on the scoreboard, the Rays came away with a 1-0 win.

The lone run came in the fifth inning with Taylor Walls knocking in Francisco Mejia with an infield single.

The Sox had plenty of chances, including in the eighth when they had runners at first and second and no out. But they couldn't produce the run. The Sox stranded 10 baserunners.

The shutout was the first for the Sox since May 30, 88 games ago, which had been the longest active streak in the big leagues.
