Final: Red Sox 4, Rays 1 - Rafaela stays hot as the Red Sox extend win streak to 10 games sweeping the Rays

The Red Sox have now won 10 games in a row behind another impressive start from Brayan Bello. 

After pitching his first career complete game against the Rockies last week, Bello pitched 6.1 innings limiting the Rays to one run. Mostly importantly, Bello allowed no walks through those innings.

It was a slow start for the Red Sox offensively, but they managed to get the first run of the game in the 3rd inning. Marcello Mayer led off the inning with a double and advanced to third base on a fielder's choice play. While at third, Ryan Pepiot attempted to pick off Mayer, but the third base umpire ruled an obstruction allowing Mayer to score on the play.

Boston's early lead was short lived. The Rays scored in the same inning with a sac fly RBI from Josh Lowe.

Tampa Bay had their chances to take the lead midway into this game, but Bello was able to get the Red Sox out of important jams keeping the score 1-1.

In the 6th inning, the Red Sox broke the tie with three massive hits from the middle of the order. Roman Anthony led off the inning with a double, and two at-bats later Trevor Story drove in Anthony with an RBI single.

And in the next at-bat, Ceddanne Rafaela came up big yet again with a two-run home run giving the Red Sox a 4-1 lead.

After Bello left the game midway into the 7th inning, Justin Wilson and Garrett Whitlock kept the Rays at one run, and Aroldis Chapman picked up the save in the 9th inning.

Not only are the Red Sox on a 10 game winning streak, but they also swept an AL division foe in the process. Boston now has a commanding lead over Tampa Bay and sit as the second seed in the wild card race.

After an incredible performance on the mound from Garrett Crochet yesterday, Bello pitched another incredible game and was a major reason for the victory today. 

Today was the final game before the all-star break, so the next game on the schedule for the Red Sox will be next Friday in Chicago against the Cubs.
