Josh WInckowski's major league debut was a mixed bag. For that matter, so was the Red Sox' day, which saw them drop the nightcap of their doubleheader to the Baltimore Orioles, 4-2.

WInckowski pitched out of trouble in both the first and second innings, but in the third, he allowed a run-scoring single to Ramon Urias and a three-run homer to Rougned Odor, accounting for all four of the Orioles' runs. WInckowski was lifted as the third.

The Sox managed a run in the fourth on a double from Trevor Story and an RBI-single up the middle by Christian Vazquez. They added another one in the bottom of the ninth and brought the tying run to the plate but could pull no closer.
