The Red Sox split their doubleheader with the Baltimore Orioles losing game two 2-1.

For the majority of the game, neither team got nothing going at the plate. Lucas Giolito got the start for Boston and pitched seven scoreless innings striking out six batters, helping give Boston's bullpen some rest after being used a lot this week.

For Baltimore, Trevor Rogers made his first start of the season pitching 6.1 innings and only allowing two hits to Boston's lineup. Boston's lineup has struggled against left-handed pitching this year, and this game was no exception.

Giolito left the game after the 7th inning, and the Red Sox turned to Brennan Bernardino who got the first two outs of the inning. Boston then turned to Luis Guerrero who just got called up from Worcester today, and the righty allowed the first run of the game.

Despite his struggled, the Red Sox gave Guerrero the ball in the 9th inning, and Guerrero allowed another run to Baltimore extending their lead. Guerrero struggled with command in his start, and his two walks came back to bite him.

Down 2-0 in the 9th inning, the Red Sox were able to cut the lead in half with an Abraham Toro solo home run, his second home run of the day. Nick Sogard got a hit right after, but the Red Sox couldn't get the tying run ending the game 2-1.

Marcelo Mayer made his MLB debut today, and he went 0-4 today with three strikeouts. The rest of Boston's lineup couldn't do much either, as Boston's top of the order went hitless at the plate. Kristian Campbell was the only player for Boston to record multiple hits on the day.

The Red Sox will wrap up their four-game series against the Orioles with a 1:35 p.m. game tomorrow.
