Final: Mariners 10, Red Sox 1 - Mariners chase Houck, open it up in the sixth before pulling away
The Red Sox have lost six of their last seven and four straight. Tanner Houck was in cruise control through three innings before struggling when the order flipped over again, giving up five hits and a two-run homer. Bernardino couldn't get out of the jam with the game still at only 2-0, and the deficit ballooned with Bleier on the mound as he had to eat the innings. Boston couldn't generate any sort of meaningful offense outside of the first inning. A weak Alex Verdugo popout put a stop to a sign of life in the seventh.

WHAT'S UP
The Sox have lost five of their last six, looking to get back on track when they open a three-game set against Seattle after a sweep at the hands of St. Louiss over the weekend.
Houck has started four games against Seattle in his career. He is 1-0 with a 2.61 ERA and 16 strikeouts. Kirby has just two starts against Boston, going 0-1 with a 7.20 ERA.
The Red Sox won five of six meetings against the Mariners last season, including a three-game sweep at Fenway in mid-May. They scored six or more runs in four of those games and at least four in five.
