Final: Red Sox 8, Guardians 7 (10) Walk-off magic

Alex Verdugo slapped a single through a drawn-in infield to rally the Red Sox to a wild 8-7 win over the Cleveland Guardians in 10 innings.

The Sox had squandered a 6-1 lead in the late innings with some suspect relief work, including the first blown save of the season for Kenley Jansen.

But after the Guardians had taken a 7-6 lead in the top of the 10th, the Sox rallied with a run-scoring single from Christian Arroyo, and after a passed ball and sacrifice bunt, Verdugo delivered the game-winner.

It was the third walk-off win of the season for the Red Sox.
