WHAT'S UP

Boston has lost four straight and six off their last seven with blowouts in their last two defeats.

The Red Sox put RHP John Schreiber on the 15-day IL with a right teres major strain. They optioned LHP Brennan Bernardino to Worcester last night. Recalled RHP Justin Garza from Worcester and selected LHP Ryan Sherriff to the Major League roster from Worcester. Kiké Hernández will miss a third consecutive game with left hamstring tightness.

Pivetta has started against Seattle just once in his career, going six innings and allowing one run in April 2021. In his only start against the Red Sox, Castillo went six innings deep, allowing just one hit and no runs while striking out 10 in May 2022.

Devers has at least an RBI in four straight games. Monday was the second day in a row that he was the only Sox player to bat in a run.
