Final: Blue Jays 9, Red Sox 0

The Red Sox haven't been competitive with the Blue Jays all season. Why should it change now?

The Sox were shut out, 9-0, at Rogers Centre, in the opener of their final road series of the year. The Jays scored the only run they would need in the first and kept adding on, getting homers from Vladirmir Guerrero Jr., Raimel Tapia and George Springer.

Meanwhile, the Red Sox didn't have their first hit until the fifth inning. Nick Pivetta allowed four runs -- three earned -- in five innings.

The Red Sox are 3-14 against the Jays this season.
