Final: Blue Jays 28, Red Sox 5

The Red Sox allowed the most runs in a game in franchise history Friday night, drubbed by the Toronto Blue Jays, 28-5.

Over the last three games, dating back to end of the first half, the Red Sox have allowed 56 runs in their last three games. Boston has lost seven of its last eight.

The Jays sprinted to a 14-0 lead by the fourth inning, chasing starter Nate Eovaldi in the third inning, pounding out 29 hits. Nine Jays players had multiple hits, including a six-hit night by Lourdes Gurriel Jr., who was 6-for-7 with five RBI.

The Sox hit four homers -- two by Christian Vazquez -- to account for their runs.
