Final: Red Sox 15, Blue Jays 1 - Red Sox get 15 runs in dominant game against Blue Jays
After yesterday's 9-0 loss, the Red Sox came back with a blowout win of their own against the Toronto Blue Jays.
Boston started the game scoring three runs in three consecutive innings. Facing off against Chris Bassett, the Red Sox came out to a 6-0 lead after two innings. Wilyer Abreu got it started in the 1st inning with a three run home run, and he added to his RBI total in the next inning that also included a two-run RBI single from Trevor Story.

Bassett loaded the bases to start the 3rd inning, and he was taken out of the game only pitching 2.0 innings on the mound. The Red Sox continued their dominance following Bassett's exit ending the 3rd inning with a 9-1 lead.
In the later half of the game, Boston extended their massive lead getting home runs from Ceddanne Rafaela and Romy Gonzalez in the 6th and 7th innings. The Red Sox ended the day scoring 15 runs.

Despite the massive run support, Lucas Giolito had a great start allowing one run in seven innings on the mound. He limited the Blue Jays to six hits and only walked one batter.

Boston snapped their six game losing streak with a much needed easy victory to split their series against an AL East rival. Everybody in the lineup besides Jarren Duran recorded multiple hits in the game which is always a great thing to see regardless of how the offense has performed recently.
Boston will play the rubber match tomorrow at 1:35 p.m. with Walker Buehler on the mound.

WHAT'S UP
The Red Sox will play their second game of their series with Toronto after a uninspiring loss on Friday night.
Jordan Hicks might be activated from the 15-day injured list in "the next couple of days."
The Red Sox moved Justin Slaten to the 60-day injured list Saturday. The move is more about flexibility than Slaten's actual injury.
