Final: Blue Jays 5, Red Sox 3 - Buehler struggles again, Red Sox struggle at the plate
The Red Sox lose the final game of their series against the Toronto Blue Jays 5-3.
Walker Buehler got the start and his struggles on the mound continued in this one. The righty pitched 4.0 innings allowing four earned runs and walking three batters.
In the 1st inning, Buehler allowed back-to-back home runs to Addison Barger and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. on consecutive pitches giving the Blue Jays an early 2-0 lead.

Buehler pitched two clean innings in the 2nd and 3rd innings, but his struggles continued the next inning. With two runners on base, Buehler allowed an RBI hit to Andrés Giménez, and with the bases loaded, Buehler walked Tyler Heineman putting the score at 4-2 in the 4th inning.
Zack Kelly came in to pitch in the 5th inning, and he allowed another with Nathan Lukes getting an RBI single.
In the same inning, the Red Sox cut the lead with Romy Gonzalez getting an RBI double, but that was their last run they scored as the Blue Jays took out their starter Eric Lauer following the run.
Facing Toronto's bullpen, the Red Sox couldn't get anything going at the plate the rest of the game. Their best chance came in the 6th inning with Jarren Duran getting a triple, but the Red Sox failed to drive him in.
Another disappointing start from Buehler paired with inconsistent offense were the reasons for the loss in this game.
The Red Sox will stay in Fenway and start a new series against the Cincinnati Reds tomorrow. First pitch with be at 7:10 p.m.
