Xander Bogaerts drove in three runs and Trevor Story knocked in two others as the Red Sox opened their 10-game West Coast road trip with a 7-2 victory over the Oakland A's.
Bogaerts homered in the fourth and had a two-run double in the ninth, while setting the franchise record for most games played at shortstop.
Nate Eovaldi tossed six shutout innings to win his second straight start. Four Red Sox relievers combined to cover the final three innings.
