Final: Red Sox 6, Astros 3

The Red Sox opened their homestand on the right note, knocking off the Houston Astros, 6-3, after the Astros had won 12 of their previous 13.

After Trevor Story homered to tie the game 3-3 in the bottom of the seventh, the Sox erupted for three runs in the home half of the eighth, with Xander Bogaerts supplying the big blow with a two-run homer.

Garrett Whitlock went five innings and allowed just one run, while Matt Strahm earned the win, fanning three in an inning and two-thirds.
