Final: Red Sox 2, Astros 1 (F/10th) - Roman Anthony gets first career walk-off, Red Sox win first game against Astros
The Red Sox win in extra innings against the Houston Astros with Roman Anthony getting his first career walk-off.
With Cooper Criswell on the mound for Boston, this game was an unlikely pitcher's duel. In his first start of the season, Criswell pitched seven innings allowing one run and striking out four batters. Although he gave up seven hits, he was able to limit the damage while also getting solid defense in the field.
On the other side, all-star Hunter Brown also pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run in his start.
In the second inning, the Astros came out to an early lead with Christian Walker hitting a solo home run to the Green Monster.
It didn't take the Red Sox until the seventh inning to get their first run of the game. With runners in scoring position, Wilyer Abreu lifted a pop up to left field, and Trevor Story came home to tie up the game.
Boston received solid outings from Garrett Whitlock and Aroldis Chapman in the eight and ninth innings, and the game went to extras.
In the 10th inning, the Red Sox turned to Greg Weissert to prevent the Astros from taking the lead, and he recorded three straight outs giving the Red Sox the chance to come away with the win.
And in the bottom half of the inning, Anthony drove in the ghost runner from third winning the game for the Red Sox.

While it wasn't the most efficient offensive game from Boston, the revamped top of the order provided the necessary hits to come away with this win. The Red Sox received an incredible spot start from Criswell along with perfect outings from three arms in their bullpen, and they were able to capitalize. A great walk-off victory against a strong American League opponent.
The Red Sox will continue their series with the Astros tomorrow at 4:10 p.m.

WHAT'S UP
The Red Sox play their first game post trade deadline as Alex Bregman faces off against his former team for the first time in his career.
Boston made two acquisitions during the trade deadline: Dustin May and Steven Matz. Brennan Bernardino gets optioned to Triple A to make room for Matz.
Dustin May is expected to make his Red Sox debut next Wednesday. He was slotted to pitch Sunday but the Red Sox elected to delay his start.
