The Red Sox win the second game of their series against the Yankees finally producing good offense against a lefty starter.

Garrett Crochet didn't have the best start, but the Red Sox finally gave their ace run support.

In the 2nd inning, the Yankees took a 3-1 with an Austin Wells home run. Crochet struggled with his control in this inning, and Boston struggled making plays in the field.

The Red Sox immediately got back in the lead the next inning scoring five runs. Abraham Toro got it started with an RBI single, and with the bases loaded, Trevor Story cleared the bases with a three run RBI double.

Kristian Campbell added onto the lead in the same inning with an RBI single putting the game at 6-3, his second RBI of the game.

The Red Sox continued their offensive serge with a two-run home run from Romy Gonzalez.

The Yankees cut down the lead in the same inning bringing the score at 8-5. After the 4th inning, Crochet was able to find a grove finishing his day pitching six innings on the mound. Despite giving up five runs, Crochet was able to K nine batter with three of his strikeouts coming against Aaron Judge.

Justin Wilson pitched the 8th inning and it wasn't pretty. The lefty gave up two runs, and the Yankees cut down Boston's lead to a run.

In the 9th inning, Story came up big again with the bases loaded driving in two more runs giving the Red Sox a three run lead for Aroldis Chapman who completed the save.

The Red Sox finally get a solid win against a lefty starter, and the bottom of the order contributed to this victory.

Boston will wrap up their series against New York tomorrow at 7:10 p.m. with Hunter Dobbins on the mound. The game will be on ESPN.
